Mt. Palay-Palay/Pico De Loro's New Trail

May 21, 2015 - "It is not just the view, but the corners of the mountain that you'll appreciate the most. Even cliffs." (reality, hahaha life is really beautiful) Yes! I made my very first Solo Climb at Mt. Palay-Palay's, Pico de Loro's New trail. It is situated at Ternate Cavite, and bus rides are available at the Coastal Mall. It was a one and half hour climb, but you'll encounter ascending trails on your way up the summit.

We were informed that just last week, a climber passed out Pico de Loro upon descending because she almost ran out of oxygen.

Made an overview of my Dayhike at Mt. Palay-Palay, Pico de Loro below.

A. There is no overnight policy. Only for dayhiking, because some climbers throw their garbages on the mountain.

B. Upon reaching the summit, there are guides and for P50.00, they'll accompany you climb the monolith. I forgot about their rate on the traversing guide. (haha) Contact Person: Ray Samonte 09475460316. Your guide is a big help! They'll take you to some parts of the mountain that you'll appreciate more.

C. An Apple a day helps you in giving energy before and after climbing. Believe me, I ate apples.

D. Meals served on weekends only, but the store is open the whole week.

E. Be cautious in going down the mountain. The soil is really different. Slide if you can.

F. The bus I rode was going to NAIC at the Coastal Mall. They dropped me at Total Gas Station for P74.00 only. From there, I rode a tricycle and paid him P220.00 only, because he asked me if how much. (hahaha) That was a cheaper price though! Most of the tricycle drivers will ask for P300.00 - P360.00 if you are going to Mt. Palay-Palay on a solo hike and P75.00/head if you are in a group.

G. I arrived at DENR Mt. Palay-Palay and they told me that tricycles are also available, so the tricycle I rented need not wait for me.

H. Please just bring more water to avoid dehydration and chewing gum is a must in trekking compared to water. Chewing gums will help you all throughout your climb. You will not feel thirsty at all.

I. DENR people are kind and so as the people on top of the summit, so don't be afraid to greet every mountaineer that you see on the trail with a smile.

We passed by the Kaybiang Tunnel. It is a road less traveled by many called "The Nasugbu Batangas-Ternate Highway". Great view from there too. Enjoy climbing. Glad I have reached the monolith and met new friends, and I'm glad to share to you my video and photos of my climb. Enjoy!

Trees everywhere! Full of Love (hahaha)

LEAVE NO TRACE. BE GOOD TO MOTHER EARTH.

My indomitable strength carried me here. Headstrong. Meditate.
